Classic Motor Vehicles

By dictionary definition, a classic is an object of acknowledged excellence, of the first class, or of outstanding importance. These pages are about cars which can be described by one or all of those definitions. What constitutes a classic car is, of course, very subjective. There will be cars listed in our Hall of Fame that some readers will question their eligibility to be called classics. No doubt there will be other cars which have failed to score a mention that some will believe are worthy of a place. I'm open to suggestions if you would care to email me. For me, a classic car is one which, upon its release, made a clutural impact by being different, progressive or ahead of its time, or caused a change of direction in automotive engineering or style by its very presence. In terms of design, there are some cars whose shape and style are timeless. These designs are not simply fashion statements that quickly went out of date, but remain today as fresh and as new as the day when the ink which drew them was still wet on the designer's sketchblock. These, too, are true classics.
