Questions Possed and Ponderings Pasted!
Ponder This POST- Selah

What do you Think?.....

Which version do you prefer? & Why?

.

I was recently informed on BigChurch that the T.NIV has been translated "Gender Neutral" Which would mean NO- Our Father which art in Heaven.. (so I had a look at one in Koorong and It's just not SO) don't believe everything you hear without checking it out for yourself!... Where does the stupidity end?

Many LIKE the New Versions while some claim that the King James Bible is the only one that's 100% reliable.

I'm a New King James guy. Its accurate like the king but not missing any of the verses like the NIV. If I used a Bible that is infalliable I might be inclined to build a doctorine upon one verse & may not seek out all the truth I can find. GB

Some say The KJ Bible says it so just DO IT but I believe that GOD Would want us to Test All Things and Hold Fast to what is Good.1Thes 5:21...GB

If a person blindly follows, without question, he could be led anywhere and do anything. (This is how cults begin) Selah
Does it Bother you that there are 17 whole verses left out & many words removed from Your NIV.???

..

Just look up Acts 8:37- Mark 11:26 or Matt 18:11 if these verses are not in your bible ask yourself why!

It Would Drive ME Crazy IF I read an N.I.V. and found out that there we Verses Omitted from what I believe to be the Word of GOD. I'd want to Know WHY and who was getting rich selling these books....grant

For me, the answer is no, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. If the King James Version was known and proved to be a totally accurate translation of the original Greek texts, then I would be extremely disturbed, but as it has not been so proved, and in fact has been proved to be one of the most inaccurate versions in terms of the change in meaning over the years of some of the words and phrases it uses, then I have no problems with the NIV, especially since I know why it is like it is. Do you believe in Once Saved Always Saved? and Why
If in the whole History of the World One was Saved and then fell away and perished. (It must be possible.)
I am inclined to belive that If a person is truely filled with the Holy Spirit They will not fall away. Grant
Surely God The Father Decides whose who Belong to HIM & have been bought with Blood! Amen

."Once Saved, always saved?"- the Bible says an emphatic 'No'. Perhaps because, as we remain in the process of being saved during the course of our lives, we never actually have it to lose. It is only when we reach the other shore and our feet are firmly on Heavenly ground that the process will be completed, a judgement (determination based on the evidence) reached and a decision made. Those who have overcome sin in their lives, who have endured in God's will, obeying His commandments unto the end, those with whom God has already established a relationship with - to them will salvation, the crown of life, be given (James 1:12). The promise of salvation is sure, but so, too, are the conditions under which it can be gained or lost. StephenY's (Link for his whole answer.)

Readers Remarks.......

Does your Church still use a hymn book?
We'd Like to Know

.

Some say singing about the Blood is offensive. I believe removing the Blood or doing away with Hymns has been the DownFall of todays Churches...Grant
What are Your 3 Favourite HYMNs???
What Hymn do you want sung.....
I like 65- Over in the Glory Land- Tim.
My Fav is 178- Jesus Loves Even Me- CB.
I like 55-Roll Up Yonder. 22-Washed in the Blood & 66- At Calvary. Singing Hymns implants Truth in our Heart.GB
Eph 5:19 & Col 3:16 Tells Us to sing Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs..
What do you think it is that makes a person Saved, a Christian and therefore headed for Heaven??
2Cor 1:22- 2Cor 5:5- Eph 1:14 all tell us we have a GuaRANTee of Salvation and we are Sealed with His Holy Spirit when we Repent, Believe and Receive that gift. God Grant you the wisdon to Know His assurance :)
2Tim 1:12 tells us GOD ....keeps what we have commited unto Him against that day.

Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
Severe DROUGHT has affected churches in Alabama,Tennessee, and Georgia.
Did you know that because of the drought in these areas, church budgets are greatly affected? Baptist churches are having to sprinkle for baptisms, the Methodists are using wet wipes for their baptisms, and the Catholics are praying that God will turn the wine back into water....
======= Johnny and the Cat ====== Johnny's mother looked out the door and saw Johnny reading the Bible to his cat. She thought to herself, "Isn't that sweet? I will not disturb him and will let him continue to play with the cat." Sometime later, Mom heard an awful noise and looked out the door to see Johnny trying to force the cat into a bucket of water. She loudly said to Johnny, "Johnny, what are you trying to do with the cat?" Johnny replied, "I am trying to baptize him!" His mom said, "Cats don't like to be in water." Johnny replied, "Well, then he shouldn't have joined my church."
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb 4:12

jake clarke  <jakes4monique@hotmail.co.uk> to me

i was once a Christian for, roughly round 2 year's. so I'm really not trying to put the mocha's on your beliefs. i hope this does not turn you away from your belief! i believe in do what ever, when ever for how ever. Is it wrong to be thinking this way... il explain soon, like know :D They say God does not make mistakes... but he did if you read the book of job. Jesus says 'don't test the lord your God' (math 5:4 < i think)  and he also says "do to other's as you would want done to your self". i would of loved to give you the versus but i ain't read the bible in a long time and so I've 4gotten where they are. sorry! hopefully you will know what I'm talking about though. There for God made a mistake. A being so powerful making mistakes (by my accounts is very dangerous) people are believed to have faith in a God that will never forget you or never hurt you. It kinda does so Ive believed in nothing but il take KNOWLEDGE from them because i think it is VERY well thought out... i just happened to find a crack in it. if you could clear it up, please reply. im sorry if its came out as a "haha your religions full of ****" sort of story (i know what its like).

Would one of the Review TEAM like to field an answer for Jake Please GB

On a Personal note This week God has blessed me considerably and for those who might like to know or care- I was Born Again on Sept 10 in 1982 while attending Moree Baptist Church. so next week I will have been "In the WAY" for 26 years. The Bloke who led me to the Lord passed away a couple of years ago and he was only 49 (my age now) If Frank's Family or Friends are reading this then- i want to say to you "Remember the Good times and What a great meeting that will be in the Sky:)" & Hi to all the Good Folks at Moree.
as we say at 'BigChurch' "Forgive us or Typos as we forgive those who Typo against US."

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Col 3:16

This just in from GCLG.net."
There was once a handyman who had a dog named Mace.
Mace was a great dog except he had one weird habit: he liked to eat grass -- not just a little bit, but in quantities that would make a lawnmower blush. And nothing, it seemed, could cure him of it. One day, the handyman lost his wrench in the tall grass while he was working outside. He looked and looked, but it was nowhere to be found. As it was getting dark, he gave up for the night and decided to look the next morning. When he awoke, he went outside and saw that his dog had eaten all the grass in the area, around where he had been working, and his wrench now lay in plain sight, glinting in the sun.
Going out to get his wrench, he called the dog over to him and said,
"A grazing Mace, how sweet the hound, that saved a wrench for me."

A new pastor was visiting the homes of his parishioners. At one house it seemed that someone was at home because of a car in the driveway. The pastor continually knocked, but no one answered the door. So the pastor took out a card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" (which reads: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock.") on the back of the card, leaving it in the door. Next Sunday, he found that his card had been returned in the offering plate.
Underneath where he had written "Revelation 3:20" was written "Genesis 3:10." Getting his Bible to check the passage, he laughed to find that Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid, for I was naked."

..25 Things Worth Thinking About

1) Give God what's RIGHT - not what's LEFT.
2) Man's way leads to hopeless end; God's way leads to endless hope.
3) A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.
4) He who kneels before God can stand before anyone.
5) In the sentence of life, the devil may be a comma, but never let him be the period.
6) Don't put a question mark where God puts a period.
7) Are you wrinkled with burden? Come to the church for a faith-lift.
8) When praying, don't give God instructions -- just report for duty.
9) Don't wait for six strong men to take you to the church.
10) We don't change God's message; His message changes us.
11) All churches should be prayer-conditioned.
12) When God ordains, He sustains.
13) WARNING: Exposure to the Son may prevent burning.
14) Plan ahead -- it wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.
15) Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory position.
16) Suffering from truth decay? Brush up with your Bible on a daily basis.
17) Exercise daily! Walk with the Lord.
18) Never give the devil a ride -- he will always want to drive.
19) Nothing else ruins the truth like stretching it.
20) Compassion is difficult to give away because it keeps coming back.
21) He who angers you controls you.
22) Worry is the darkroom in which negatives can develop.
23) Give Satan an inch, and he'll be a ruler.
24) Be ye fishers of men -- you catch them, and God will clean them.
25) God does not call the qualified; he qualifies the called.

THE YELLOW SHIRT- had long sleeves, four extra-large pockets trimmed in black thread and snaps up the front.  It was faded from years of wear, but still in decent shape.  I found it in 1963 when I was home from college on Christmas break, rummaging through bags of clothes Mom intended to give away.  'You're not taking that old thing, are you?' Mom said when she saw me packing the yellow shirt.  'I wore that when I was pregnant with your brother in 1954!' 'It's just the thing to wear over my clothes during art class Mom.  Thanks!'  I slipped it into my suitcase before she could object. The yellow shirt be came a part of my college wardrobe.  I loved it. After graduation, I wore the shirt the day I moved into my new apartment and on Saturday mornings when I cleaned.
The next year, I married.  When I became pregnant, I wore the yellow shirt during big-belly days.  I missed Mom and the rest of my family, since we were in Colorado and they were in Illinois   But that shirt helped.  I smiled, remembering that Mother had worn it when she was pregnant, 15 years earlier.  That Christmas, mindful of the warm feelings the shirt had given me, I patched one elbow, wrapped it in holiday paper and sent it to Mom.
When Mom wrote to thank me for her 'real' gifts, she said the yellow shirt was lovely.  She never mentioned it again.   The next year, my husband, daughter and I stopped at Mom and Dad's to pick up some furniture.  Days later, when we uncrated the kitchen table, I noticed something yellow taped to its bottom.  The shirt!   And so the pattern was set.   On our next visit home, I secretly placed the shirt under Mom and Dad's mattress.  I don't know how long it took for her to find it, but almost two years passed before I discovered it under the base of our living-room floor lamp.  The yellow shirt was just what I needed now while refinishing furniture.  The walnut stains added character.
In 1975 my husband and I divorced.  With my three children, I prepared to move back to Illinois .  As I packed, a deep depression overtook me. I wondered if I could make it on my own.   I wondered if I would find a job.  I paged through the Bible, looking for comfort.  In Ephesians, I read, 'So use every piece of God's armour to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will be standing up.'   I tried to picture myself wearing God's armour, but all I saw was the stained yellow shirt.  Slowly, it dawned on me.  Wasn't my mother's love a piece of God's armour?  My courage was renewed.
Unpacking in our new home, I knew I had to get the shirt back to Mother.  The next time I visited her, I tucked it in her bottom dresser drawer.   Meanwhile, I found a good job at a radio station.
A year later I discovered the yellow shirt hidden in a rag bag in my cleaning closet. Something new had been added.  Embroidered in bright green across the breast pocket were the words 'I BELONG TO PAT.'   Not to be outdone, I got out my own embroidery materials and added an apostrophe and seven more letters.  Now the shirt proudly proclaimed, 'I BELONG TO PAT'S MOTHER.'  But I didn't stop there.  I zig-zagged all the frayed seams, then had a friend mail the shirt in a fancy box to Mom from Arlington , VA. We enclosed an official looking letter from 'The Institute for the Destitute,' announcing that she was the recipient of an award for good deeds.  I would have given anything to see Mom's face when she opened the box.  But, of course, she never mentioned it.
Two years later, in 1978, I remarried. The day of our wedding, Harold and I put our car in a friend's garage to avoid practical jokers. After the wedding, while my husband drove us to our honeymoon suite, I reached for a pillow in the car to rest my head.  It felt lumpy.  I unzipped the case and found, wrapped in wedding paper, the yellow shirt.  Inside a pocket was a note:  'Read John 14:27-29.  I love you both, Mother.' That night I paged through the Bible in a hotel room and found the verses:  'I am leaving you with a gift: peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn't fragile like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid.  Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really love me, you will be very happy for me, for now I can go to the Father, who is greater than I am. I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do, you will believe in me.'  The shirt was Mother's final gift.  She had known for three months that she had terminal Lou Gehrig's disease.  Mother died the following year at age 57.
I was tempted to send the yellow shirt with her to her grave.  But I'm glad I didn't, because it is a vivid reminder of the love-filled game she and I played for 16 years.  Besides, my older daughter is in college now, majoring in art.  And every art student needs a baggy yellow shirt with big pockets..
