The Covenants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob & The Lost Tribes

The Covenants God made with Abraham, and then confirmed and expanded with Isaac and Jacob, are the first references in The Bible to the relationship God has endeavoured to establish with mankind. Their influence on God's dealings with man and the establishment of His relationship with His Church in the Last Days are far greater than most Christians realise.

For example, few Christians know that, when Jacob blessed his sons before he died, he prophesied over them what would happen to their descendants during the Last Days, the time in which we are living. Those prophesies shed an incredible amount of light on the Church's role in the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

This series of studies, which is listed in the right hand column of this page in a suggested order of study, examines the covenants God made with Abraham and then with each subsequent generation through to the 12 sons from whom the 12 tribes of Israel were named. It briefly follows the story of those tribes, focusing on the promises given to each of the brothers and how with many, the fulfilment of these promises is though the Christian Church of today, and why this is so.

The study also serves to highlight a major misunderstanding that is prevelant in the Christian Church, that all references to Israel in the scriptures are to the nation that Jesus was born into, and to the modern-day nation called Israel. The study shows that in the writings of the Old Testmant prophets, the teachings of Jesus, the New Testament letters and the Book of Revelation, references to Isreal are in fact rarely about the people we today know as Jews, but recall another group of descendants of the Old Testament patriarch, Jacob. Finding out who they are is a real eye opener! Consequently, some sections of the Old Testament prophets, Jesus and the New Testament writers are seen in a whole new light and from the same perspective those who wrote and spoke them intended; the true relationship between Jews, Israel and the Church is clarified, the question of how predestination can fit into a Gospel that allows mankind to choose their own destiny is answered, the identities of the House of Isreal and the Bride of Christ become crystal clear; however a total re-think of our interpretation of Biblical prophesy and the role of the Jews in it is demanded.
